About Us

The Guild of Railway Ringers was formed in 1994 when the privatisation of the railway Industry took place and replaced the previous guild "The Railway Guild" whose constitution could not be maintained.

The Guild of Railway Ringers is a non territorial association and is open to anyone associated within the railway industry, its contractors, and members of heritage or miniature railways. For those who cannot meet the above requirements then Associate Membership is available. Associate members may take part in meetings only with the consent of the chair but have no voting rights other than on votes regarding future venues of meetings.

The Guild can hold meetings at any location within the British Isles and the AGM is usually the only meeting at which business is discussed, so all other meetings are more of a social "meet up".

Future venues and organisers are decided at the AGM for the following year. Any member (including Associate Members) can propose a venue and should have prepared a brief outline of the proposal and an organiser for the event.

The present annual subscription rates for Full or Associate Members are £10 or £5 for under 16's or over 65's.
